Profile of The Programme
Our vision is to develop design concepts at national and international levels in the field and to become a preferred department, ahead of universities that provide equivalent education with a correct educational approach. Mission: To educate innovative students who develop the ability to apply the theoretical and practical knowledge together and to enable them to use the necessary theoretical knowledge at the application stage. Aim/ Goal: In our department, where theoretical and practical information is used together, it is aimed to educate students who have a strong theoretical background, have a developed design direction, closely follow technological developments and can use related programs. General Information: Industrial Design is an interdisciplinary field that tries to produce solutions to problems mostly by using a visual language. In the Industrial Design department, where theoretical and practical teaching is carried out together, training is provided by examining all the details of the production stages. Defined Program Educational Objectives: PEO 1: To assume leading, competitive, and innovative roles (such as senior designer, design manager, or consultant) in national and international markets by employing generative AI (Gen-AI) and computational design tools in a visionary manner during design processes. PEO 2: To build R&D-oriented careers in the manufacturing industry or establish their own independent design startups/studios, leveraging the high-level practical competencies acquired through the "learning-by-making" discipline and advanced prototyping training. PEO 3: To produce industry-leading innovative designs and social responsibility projects responsive to complex societal and environmental issues—such as sustainable living scenarios and modular post-disaster shelter systems—driven by their strong aptitude for interdisciplinary teamwork.
Occupational Profiles of Graduates With Examples
After successfully completing their education, our graduate students will have the knowledge and skills to manage their own businesses, especially SMEs, factories and design offices. In addition, our students who complete their undergraduate education can continue their careers as academicians with the title of scientist after their master's and doctoral studies. Students who successfully complete the program can apply for master's and doctoral degrees in other branches of science that accept students in this field.
Access to Further Studies
Our students who successfully complete the Department of Industrial Design program can apply for the other postgraduate courses ( 7th and 8th level) of different fields of science that accept students from this department in case of getting a passing grade in ALES and having the English language skills at an adequate level.

As a department that continuously researches the needs of both the national and international design sector and updates its lesson plans in this context with the cooperation of the sector and the university, we train our students as successful designers and design managers in the design and production sector. We train students who are specialized not only in design but also in management and business administration. We help our students gain internship and study experience abroad through strategic collaborations with universities, private sector organizations and other educational institutions abroad. Within the eight-semester education process, we offer a lesson plan for our students to evaluate the eighth semester after completing seven semesters within the scope of on-the-job professional practices in the sector and to gain work experience before graduation.
