Profile of The Programme
Vision: To lead the training of qualified pathology laboratory technicians who are preferred in our country and in the international health sector, who are competent in their profession, problem-solving oriented, value people and human health, have strong communication skills and aim to constantly improve themselves. Mission: Pathology Laboratory Techniques is to train Pathology Laboratory Technicians to meet the need for intermediate staff who are competent, have professional knowledge and skills, and are useful to the society. Purpose/Targets: To train pathology laboratory technicians who can carry out all technical services in pathology laboratories until the tissues and body fluids are ready for microscopic examination, apply developing technology, work on the establishment of new techniques, have problem-solving skills and good eye and hand coordination. General Information: Pathology is a word meaning "Science of Disease" in Greek, used to describe functional or structural changes in cells or tissues. The most important way to diagnose diseases and obtain information is by evaluating tissue and biopsy samples taken from different parts of the body. While pathologists take responsibility for the diagnosis process, technicians working in the pathology laboratory are the most important assistants in the diagnosis process. For this reason, pathology laboratory technicians with full practical and theoretical equipment have an important place in this field where advancing technology and new tests are used.
